Now we have a national Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent validation system with Oho integrated with the Gymnastics in Australia database, we have now added the functionality for Tech Members be able to validate their WWCC or equivalent with Oho as self service via the Tech Member Portal.
It is important to note that it is State/Territory legislation to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent when working in or volunteering with direct contact with children. More information.

To validate WWCC or equivalent via the Tech Member Portal as self service, Tech Members can:
- Log into the Tech Member Portal
- Go to the Personal Details tab
- Scroll down to the My Details header.
- Check that the following information matches what is on your WWCC or equivalent and follow these instructions to update your profile:
- First Name (if you have a preferred name please use the Nick Name field)
- Middle Name
- Last Name
- Email Address (you must have a valid email address to be validated with Oho)
- Phone Number (you must have a phone number with 10 digits to be validated with Oho eg. 0411222333 or 0286989700)
- Scroll down under you get to the heading: Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Equivalent Validation.
- What is displayed under this heading is what has been registered for your Working with Children check and the validation status. If nothing is displayed, then no WWCC or equivalent has been registered.
- To update click on the Add WWCC Details button or Edit link (this will only display if you are a current technical member)
- A new screen will appear.
- Update the following fields and ensure that they match your WWCC or equivalent accreditation:
- Accreditation type
- WWCC number (Please ensure that this is in the correct format to be validated)
- WWCC expiry date (you cannot add an expired accreditation)
- To initiate the validation check with Oho please click on the Save button.
- Please press F5 to see updated status of your Oho WWCC validation and check that it has returned Current & Valid status.
- To return to your Tech Member Portal please click on the My Account button located on the top left hand of the screen.

Your WWCC or equivalent card is undergoing validation from the Oho system. Please wait 5-10 minutes after pressing the save button and press the F5 button to see a result. If the pending check takes longer than 5-10 minutes, please email email@example.com
Your check has failed WWCC or equivalent card validation due to invalid details as it could not find a match. To resolve this issue, please check that the your full name, card type, card number and expiry date matches what is on your card and follow these instructions to update this information.
