How to fix phone number if missing a zero at the front of the number on club import file
These instructions are to help Clubs who have club import files which excel are dropping the zero at the front of their club import file.
- Open excel and the file which is missing the zeros from the phone numbers
- Highlight the column with the phone numbers
- Click on Data> Text to Columns
- A pop-up window will appear. Select OK. This will convert all numbers to a general format.
- Highlight the column with the phone numbers
- Right click the column and choose the option 'Format Cells'.
- Go to the 'Custom' option from the left.
- In the 'Type' text box type in 10 zeros in this format 0000 000 000.
- Save the file as text
- Open a new excel file
- Go to Data>Get Data from Text/CSV
- Import text file into excel.
- Copy all the text including the headers.
- Open a new excel spreadsheet.
- Right hand click in cell A1
- Select Paste Values
- Highlight the birthdates column
- Right click the column and choose the option 'Format Cells'.
- Go to the ‘Date’ option from the left.
- Select the format DD/MM/YYYY and select OK.
- Save file as a CSV (Comma Delimitered) (*.csv) file
