Ready to start your Intermediate Coaching Accreditation? This guide steps you through the entire process. 

Login to Gymnastics Australia and access Flex 

  1. Go to the Gymnastics Australia website by visiting http://gymnastics.org.au 
  2. In the top right hand corner, click Sign In. 
  3. Sign in using your Technical Member ID as your username, and your Gymnastics Australia password. If you have forgotten your password, please contact us.
  4. Once you have signed in, click the top right-hand corner on the Hi, [Your Name] link to access your Gymnastics Australia account.
  5. Click Go to Flex (LMS). This should be on the left-hand side of the page. 
  6. You will then be taken to your Flex account, no sign in will be required. 

 

Enrol in the two online courses

The first step to gaining an Intermediate Coaching Accreditation involves completing the following two online theory courses: Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 1 and Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 2 (in your chosen gymsport). These courses need to be completed prior to enrolling into the practical course.

  1. Access the Training Library by clicking the Bookshelf icon on the left-hand menu bar.
  2. Locate the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation Courses category. Click View Courses.
  3. Purchase the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 1 bundle. This contains the Online Intermediate Coaching Principles Course and the Intermediate Workbook. To buy this course, click Purchase and enter your payment details. Click Process Payment to complete your enrolment. You will then be taken to your Training Library and will be able to begin your course
  4. Purchase the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 2 course in your chosen gymsport (i.e., if you want to be a WAG coach, purchase the 'WAG Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 2' course).
  5. You will be emailed a copy of your receipt with your confirmation email.
  6. You can access online courses you have just enrolled into through the My Training section of Flex. 
  7. Click View under the course you wish to complete, and you will be able to see the parts of the online course.
  8. Click Start or Resume for the part of the course you wish to work through. 
  9. If you want to take a break from the course, click the Exit button located in the top left corner of the Flex window.

  10. When you complete an Assessment Task or Quiz, make sure to click Print Results on the results page and save a copy for your records.

 

Upload your Intermediate Workbook

Uploading your Intermediate Workbook is now completed through the My Training page. If you are not already enrolled in Intermediate Coach Accreditation - Theory 1, this can be found and purchased in the Training Library.

  1. In My Training, locate Intermediate Coach Accreditation - Theory 1, and select View.
  2. You will now see a list of all the online course components and the final tile will be the Intermediate Workbook, click Start on this tile.
  3. On the following page, click Take Assessment.
  4. A pop-up will open in a new window; select Upload. You can then select the file from your computer and upload the document.
    Please note - you can only upload one document. If your workbook is in multiple files, you will need to combine them into one file.

  5. When the file has finished uploading, make sure to click Submit.
  6. Your submission will be sent for approval, and you will receive an email when it has been accepted.

Please note – it may take up to 10 business days to mark the Intermediate workbook.

 

Enrol in the Intermediate Coaching Practical

The practical course is the third and final part of your Intermediate Coaching Accreditation. You must complete all theory components before enrolling in the practical course.

  1. Go to the Training Library and locate the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation Courses category. Click View Courses.
  2. Locate the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Practical for your chosen gymsport and click Purchase. Enter your payment details and then click Process Payment.
  3. You will be emailed a copy of your receipt with your confirmation email.
  4. You now need to book into a training session/event. To do this, head over to the to the Training Event calendar. You can access this by clicking the Calendar icon on the left-hand menu bar.
  5. In the Courses search bar, type the name of the course you wish to attend (for example 'WAG Intermediate Coach Accreditation - Practical).
  6. You will then see a list of all scheduled sessions for that month. Click the arrow > to see the courses in the following month.
  7. Once you find the session you wish to attend, click Enrol. If a pop up appears, select Enrol again. You are now enrolled in this session.
  8. To check which events you are enrolled into, click the My Enrolled Events toggle.
  9. If you are unable to attend a course, you can un-enrol yourself from a session and re-enrol into a future course date. This can be done by selecting Un-enrol on the event session.

Please note that if you choose to un-enrol yourself from an event, you may incur a late cancelation fee from your State or Territory Association. Always contact your State/Territory Association before unenrolling from an event. 

 

Complete the Intermediate Practical Coaching Course

  1. Attend the course on the day. In most cases, you will need to bring a packed lunch. Keep an eye on your email prior to the course for notifications from your State / Territory Association
  2. After attending and passing the practical course, you will be awarded the accreditation. This can take up to three weeks post course date
  3. If you are unsuccessful in passing the assessments during the practical course, you will receive instructions on what to do next.
