One of the biggest changes in the new membership portal is the Group-Club Structure.
The different names listed in a club administrator's portal are the number of sites which the gymnastics club operates out of. This feature is designed to publish all locations which clubs operate out of for potential participants to find via the club finder tool.
This will also help with tracking participation by location for statistical purposes as well as for member and child protection. Additionally, this will enable clubs to keep track of workforce staffing at different venues, and provide accuracy with voting rights which is the driver for affiliation, voting at STA AGM's, fees and competition rights at an STA level.
Every club has an overarching 'group' and each venue operated by the group is listed as a 'club'.
In the below example, Slam Gymnastics and Dove Gymnastics are the overarching 'Group', while underneath them, the other listed venues (Slam Hurstville, Slam Kingsgove etc) are the 'clubs' which operate underneath these groups:
The group-club structure does not mean another club exists with the same name, or that a club has been split into separate entities. This is a feature which is used for competition registration purposes as well as voting rights at STA AGM's.
The data structure and heirarchy is used to differentiate between a group and club.
The functions a club can perform at each level depends on the club's voting rights toggle. The voting rights toggle is used to determine how many votes each club is entitled to at their STA AGM.
