Recognition of Prior Learning - Judging (RPL) - What is it? 
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process of acknowledging a FIG awarded Brevet judging accreditations to support a judge to become a recognised technical member of Gymnastics Australia.

RPL Process Overview
The RPL application process involves completing the following tasks:


1. Completing the RPL Application Form
The application will require information & supporting documentation addressing the following requirements:

  • Personal Information
  • Australian Club Details (details of your prospective employee)
  • Evidence of FIG Brevet Qualifications
  • Integrity Requirements to approve Technical Membership being awarded
Please review the form and collect all relevant documentation prior to submitting an application.  A checklist of required documents has been provided below for your use: 
  • Resume/CV including contact details of 2 referees
  • Evidence of Australian Working With Children Check (or equivalent) if currently residing in Australia
  • Letter of Recommendation from ALL National Gymnastics Federations/Peak Body that applicant has been a member of within the last 10 years and include a statement confirmation whether the applicant has been subject to any complaints investigations or had membership suspended/cancelled
  • Overseas Police Check dated within 3 months of RPL application for all countries that they have lived in for a period of 12 months or more
  • Australian Police Check dated within 3 months of RPL application (required if applicant has been in Australia for more than 14 days)

*Note: All documentation must be in English and officially translated where applicable or applications will not be accepted.

  • Once an application has been submitted, a Gymnastics Australia staff member will reach out to you to help you through the process. 


How long does an RPL take?
Judging RPL’s typically take a minimum of 1-2 months to complete, high volumes of applications may result in longer timeframes.


Fees - How much does an RPL cost? 
There is no cost associated with applying for an RPL Judging accreditation and membership - however, if successfully gain, Gymnastics Australia will invoice you for 12 months technical membership prior to applying the membership and accreditation to your profile.
