As most gymnastics participants are under 18 years old across Australia, keeping our children safe is one of the top priorities for all Gymnastics Associations in Australia. A key part of Child Safety is ensuring that our gymnastics workforce and volunteers are regularly checked for authorisation to work with children.

It is State/Territory legislation to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent when working in or volunteering with direct contact with children.   This is outlined further in the Child Safety Policy.

Please visit this website to see how you can get a Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent in your State/Territory.

If you are under the age of 18, you still may require a Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent if you are working or volunteering at a Gymnastics organisation or event.  Please refer this page for more information as legislation varies in each State/Territory.

How can I ensure my WWCC gets validated?

For a  WWCC or equivalent check to be validated by the Oho system or the Government validation websites you must ensure that all details on the WWCC or equivalent match exactly what is registered on Gymnastics Online.

If you are:

  • Currently working at a Club, you must ask your Club to update these details via the Club Admin Portal> WWCC tab.  More information
